Starting from Cluny where the tracks from Northern Europe converge, the Santiago de Compostela Trail shows the magnificent concentrated diversity of the Roanne area. From the dense forests of the Echarmeaux pass to the North-East through the Charlieu area and its remarkable religious heritage, the route continues on the Côte Roannaise, Saint Jean Saint Maurice then Pommiers en Forez before rejoining the  via podiensis at Le Puy en Velay.
